When Dr. Rachel isn’t busy telling kids her jokes, she can be found fighting the battle against sugar bugs, aka cavities. She grew up in a small town called Byrneville, FL. It’s okay—no one else knows where that is either— but it’s almost in Alabama. She acquired a biology degree at the University of West Florida where she graduated with honors. She obtained her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from UF followed by two additional years of training to specialize in pediatric dentistry. She fell in love with the town of Gainesville and decided to stay!
Needless to say, Dr. Rachel is not your ordinary pediatric dentist. She believes an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure and stopping cavities before they even start is the best way to keep her patients happy and healthy! Dr. Rachel’s specialty training involved growth and development of an infant through adolescence. She believes recognizing conditions that can affect development of teeth and jaws are integral to oral health and overall health.
In her free time, she enjoys running, triathlons, playing the drums and guitar, Gator football, and exploring the nearby springs with her husband Edwin. She can’t wait to meet you!
